About Lax Kw’alaams Wap Suwilaawksa
Cultivating strong minds, strong bodies, and strong identity in Ts’msyen Country
The story of Wap Suwilaawksa is woven into the land, the language, and the people. Decades ago, community leaders recognized the need for a school rooted in Ts’msyen culture where children could learn both in the classroom and on the land. With strong community support, the school opened its doors in. Over time, we have grown in enrollment, programs, and facilities—but our mission has stayed the same: to educate with respect, resilience, and rootedness.
Through partnerships, student initiatives, and community guidance, we now offer land-based learning, athletics, arts, and strong academic pathways.
